Health and safety training for persons performing particularly hazardous work

Health and safety training dedicated to employees who perform hazardous work

Health and safety training for particularly hazardous work is one of the most important training courses in the workplace. During this short course, employees, employers and managers alike learn how to carry out their duties safely and who is responsible in the event of an accident. As this is a very important body of knowledge, it must be repeated at least once a year. It is important that both employees and managers are familiar with the current health and safety rules for particularly hazardous work. Ignorance of these rules can lead to tragic accidents. We have a suggestion for those looking for professional trainers who will thoroughly prepare staff to work safely.

What is health and safety training for those doing hazardous work?

The legal act defining which work qualifies as hazardous work is the ordinance of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of September 26, 1997 on general provisions on health and safety at work (see chapter 6 for details). In Poland, performing or supervising the work listed in the document requires completion of an additional occupational health and safety course for persons performing hazardous work. Such applies to both employees and managers. Topics covered include:

WorkersManagersy
  • Division and classification of particularly dangerous works
  • Responsibilities of the manager supervising employees performing particularly dangerous work
  • Security procedures
  • Classification of accidents in the workplace: accidents at work, accidents treated on a par with accidents at work and near misses
  • Accidents caused by alcohol and other intoxicants
  • Legal proceedings after an accident at work
  • Preparation of documentation on hazardous works
  • Health and safety at work in confined spaces
  • Principles of performing work in areas endangered by explosion and / or fire

  • The role of the manager in an accident at work
  • Organisation of evacuation in areas at risk of fire or explosion
  • Supervision of workers during particularly dangerous works
  • What the employer is obliged to provide to employees performing particularly dangerous work
  • Current regulations on preventive health care
  • Disciplinary dismissal and other methods of disciplining employees

Health and safety for people performing hazardous work covers all employees, including management. The course takes the form of lectures, during which employees have the opportunity to learn all the information regarding the safe performance of particularly hazardous work.

Who can take part in OHS training for people performing hazardous work?

As this is one of the most basic training courses provided at workplaces in any industry, there are no special requirements to take part. Anyone who performs or supervises hazardous work should have completed this training - it is open to everyone.
