Who can provide general instruction?

employee training

Conducting general instruction may be the responsibility of different people. Depending on the given situations and recommendations, it can be carried out by:

  • occupational health and safety service employees - at employers who have established an occupational health and safety service,
  • contracted employees performing health and safety services - employers who are not obliged to set up a health and safety service delegate instructional duties to their qualified employees,
  • the employer performing the tasks of the occupational health and safety service - where the employer employs 10-50 people, in a job with a lower risk group than group three,
  • an employee designated by the employer - who has the knowledge and skills resources to carry out the instruction - who has a current certificate of completion of health and safety training,
  • external companies - where the employer has fewer than 100 employees.

Addresses for general instruction

General instruction is always carried out before a worker is allowed to work. It is a requirement that they attend:

  • newly recruited employees of the workplace,
  • students during a student placement with an employer,
  • All employees after updating the company's health and safety policies,
  • employees after a job change.

Documentation

The organisation of the company's general instruction must be documented in the initial training sheet - in the field of health and safety at work. Once the instruction has taken place, the sheet is signed by both the instructor and the trainee(s).

Follow-up examination

The training concludes with a theoretical examination in the form of a written test. It tests and confirms the knowledge acquired during the training. It is supervised by the training organisers. A positive result of the examination leads to a certificate of completion of the course - it constitutes the readiness of employees to carry out general instructional training in the workplace.
