Training objectives

Our training centre KURSO specialises in providing courses for floating crane qualifications. We train future operators and maintainers to work effectively on a floating crane. Our aim is to guide you smoothly through the examination process, in accordance with the requirements of the Office of Technical Inspection. We will make every effort to do so.

Training of operators and maintainers of floating cranes

Our long-standing presence on the training market has enabled us to develop a comprehensive course for future floating crane operators and maintainers. The course has been divided analogously to the UDT state exam - into a theoretical part and a practical part. During the course, you can make use of our machine facilities. We will familiarise you more extensively with topics relating to:

  • applicable health and safety regulations,
  • construction of floating cranes,
  • record-keeping and the conservator's book,
  • carry out the necessary inspections,
  • safe operation of a floating crane,
  • moving a floating crane.

UDT exam

The state examination for the floating crane operator and maintenance licence is divided into two parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. The theory includes a written test with single-choice questions. It tests knowledge of health and safety, machine construction and technical record keeping. The practical part is based on the performance of tasks assigned by a commission from the Office of Technical Inspection. The ability to operate the machine safely must be demonstrated.

UDT authorisations - validity

The UDT certificate is issued by the authorities of the Office of Technical Inspection, following the successful completion of a state examination. The certificate is valid for a period of 3 - 5 years. It must be renewed regularly in order to keep your entitlement. With this document, you can work as an operator and maintenance person throughout the European Union.

Requirements for the trainee

Trainees are required to:

  • were at least 18 years old,
  • had no medical contraindications to practise their profession,

Improve your competence in crane knowledge. We have training courses on offer, in line with the UDT standard, for the operator and maintainer of cranes with different classifications.
