Training for stationary crane operators

We offer a comprehensive course on the operation and maintenance of stationary cranes. During the training course, you will gain basic and extended knowledge of the construction of these machines, regulations and other issues. You will also learn how to operate stationary cranes, as well as how to properly inspect them. All classes are taught by experienced professionals and each participant receives free training materials. We run courses for individuals and groups. Please feel free to contact us for more details.

Training program

We have divided the stationary crane operator and maintenance course into two parts - lecture and exercises. The theoretical class will cover general information about these machines, while the exercises will consist of practical operation and maintenance of the cranes.

Stationary crane operator qualification course are led by specialists who are experienced in the operation of these machines. In the lectures they will discuss the following topics:

  • information on technical supervision,
  • division of cranes,
  • construction of cranes and their operation,
  • possible hazards at work,
  • responding to dangerous situations,
  • technical assessment of the condition of the equipment,
  • operation of stationary cranes,
  • Health, Safety and Security.

In the exercises, students will test their skills and also acquire new ones. All activities will be supervised by qualified instructors, who will suggest how to perform a specific task. During such classes, participants gain confidence in operating cranes and become increasingly fluent in steering them. We use traditional models of stationary cranes for training, as well as more modern ones, so that trainees will be able to operate any of them in the future.

Stationary crane maintenance licence course focuses primarily on machine construction and maintenance activities. Topics discussed include:

  • characteristics and division of cranes,
  • key information on technical supervision,
  • construction and operation of cranes,
  • individual parts of stationary cranes, e.g. slings,
  • maintenance activities,
  • Health, Safety and Security.

Practical classes are compulsory for all trainees. In them, participants learn how to carry out technical inspections and the various maintenance tasks on stationary cranes. The advantage of the exercises is that the trainees learn both from their own mistakes and by observing others. In this way, they gain the practice and experience that is so necessary for a maintenance position.

Obtaining rights

Both the maintenance and stationary crane operator courses conclude with a theoretical and practical exam. During the first part, participants solve a written test and, if they obtain the required number of points, they take a practical exam. Depending on the type of training, participants have to perform specific activities related to the operation or maintenance of stationary cranes. The entire exam is supervised by a committee from the Office of Technical Inspection. After passing both parts, participants receive the relevant documents confirming their certification as an operator or maintainer. These are issued by the UDT and are valid for 10 years. After this time, they must be renewed in order to continue practising their profession.

Purpose of the training

The aim of both training courses is to familiarise the trainee with all information relating to the work of a stationary crane operator and maintainer. At the end of the training, participants will:

  • know the rights and responsibilities of the operator and maintainer,
  • were able to operate cranes and carry out condition checks,
  • be able to locate the fault and repair it, as well as carry out other maintenance operations on the equipment.

We provide each participant with:

  • theoretical and practical classes taught by qualified training staff,
  • assistance in completing the formalities for the state examination and certification,
  • training materials including a database of sample exam questions,
  • a pleasant atmosphere during classes.

Requirements for candidates:

  • at least 18 years of age,
  • minimum primary education,
  • no health contraindications to work as a stationary crane operator or maintainer.

Stationary cranes - characteristics

Stationary cranes consist of a pole fixed to the ground and a rotating boom, at the end of which is a winch or hoist. These components are used to move goods directly (vertically and/or horizontally). They are either manually or electrically driven. They are usually attached to the ground, the ceiling or to another machine. They are used to transport various types of loads, as well as to lift and deposit packages. They can also be used for repair, assembly and unloading operations.

We also offer courses for the operator and maintainer of other UDT machines, including:

  • all types of cranes (mobile and portable, self-propelled, rail, deck, floating, tower and high-speed cranes, rail and on rail vehicles),
  • forklift trucks,
  • telescopic loaders,
  • cranes,
  • mobile platforms (aerial work platforms and scissor lifts).

In addition, we offer the following services:

  • modernisation,
  • maintenance,
  • reviews,
  • audits,
  • the possibility of checking the machine before purchase,
  • the possibility of hiring a replacement machine (forklift or scissor lift),
  • sale of new and used equipment.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
