Training Center - KURSO

Course for the authorisation of mobile platforms

Who is the course designed for?

We organise the course both for beginners with no experience of operating mobile platforms and for those with experience in this field. With our course, you will gain preparation for the exam at the highest level and acquire practical and theoretical knowledge.

Mobile platform operator course

Taking our course gives you the opportunity to acquire and deepen both theoretical and practical knowledge, which is an integral part of passing the UDT exam. Training is provided by specialised and appropriately trained instructors. The timetable is adapted to the UDT examination requirements. Classes are held throughout Poland or at the customer's premises. For further information on forthcoming dates, please contact us.

What does the training look like?

Our training is designed to prepare, at the highest level, those tying their professional life to a career as a mobile platform operator. We place great emphasis on preparing future operators for the state examination and to perform their work at the highest level, with particular attention to health and safety principles. The classes are dedicated to anyone who would like to test themselves as an operator. The course is organised both for people with no experience in the industry and those who already have experience of working with platforms.

Conditions for participation in training

The course is dedicated to people who are at least 18 years of age, have an elementary education and are in good health to work as an operator.

Receipt of entitlements

We organise the course both for beginners with no experience in operating mobile platforms and for those with experience in this field. Thanks to our course, you will be prepared for the exam at the highest level and you will gain practical and theoretical knowledge. After passing the exam, you will receive your UDT qualification certificate in the form of a plastic card. The certificates are valid for 10 years from the date of acquisition. They are valid on the territory of Poland and are also honoured by some European Union countries. It is possible to issue a certificate confirming the acquired qualifications in English.

Characteristics of mobile platforms

The term mobile platform is commonly understood as a certain type of crane, categorised as part of a set of construction machinery. Their primary task is to transport materials and people to a specific location. Movement can take place both horizontally and vertically. The construction of a mobile platform is not complicated. In fact, it consists of a platform, commonly known as a basket, attached to a linkage or a platform raised on a crane.

How do we divide aerial platforms?

Based on the design features mobile platforms are divided into several types.

Hanging mobile platforms - They comprise winches, suspension cables, a working platform and safety cables. The platforms can be permanently installed for a construction site or temporarily for the duration of a specific job. The work platform is attached to the suspension cable using a hanger. There are three methods of attaching the work platform: single-point, two-point and multi-point suspension.

Mast climbing platforms - They comprise a working platform, one or two masts and bases. The working platform moves on the mast or masts, which provide the driving mechanism for the platform and allow it to move freely. The most common structure used for a mast is a truss structure. The most common form used for lifting is the use of a rack and pinion jack, which allows the work platform to move freely along the mast. The chassis of the platform is most often of the nature of a trolley, which allows for easy towing. Mast platforms can be divided into:

  • Telescopic extension platforms - They are characterised by their telescopic extension arm, which means that they must be positioned directly under the target site when working at great heights;
  • Telescopic folding platforms - are characterised by a folding compound arm, which allows access to hard-to-reach areas without having to drive directly to the site.

Scissor lifts - The main advantage of a scissor lift is the large size of the working platform and the stability provided by the even distribution of the scissor mechanism. Scissor platforms usually have a higher lifting capacity, thus giving the ability to lift more people - usually up to three people. This type of platform is usually used for cleaning work such as window cleaning or the installation of billboards.

Telescopic mobile platforms - are machines designed to work at extreme heights. Thanks to the special design of the telescope, it is possible to work on high structures and buildings without having to move to a suitable location.

Articulated mobile platforms - Thanks to their specialised design, they enable work in difficult conditions with limited access. The articulating basket boom has a distinctive arm that is made up of several movable points and thus allows it to bend at multiple angles, which entails greater accessibility and reaching hard-to-reach places.

Telescopic-articulated platforms - flexible lifts used both indoors and outdoors. Their working height is typically around 20.3m. Like most lifts, they are ideal for hard-to-reach work areas. Thanks to a system of hinges connected to the telescope, we can get into any hard-to-reach place in the hall. The distinguishing feature of telescopic-articulated platforms is that they are extremely manoeuvrable, being able to turn in either direction with the basket raised or lowered.

Mobile loading platforms - most commonly referred to as loading lifts or vehicle lifts. They usually take the form of a platform attached to the back of a van or truck. The platform is used to lift a load for loading or unloading.
