Training to become a cable car maintainer

The KURSO training centre has been in business for more than 15 years. It offers a range of courses for operators and maintainers of technical equipment, as well as maintenance, consultancy and technical audit services. The presenters are professional trainers and instructors who are happy to share their own experiences and knowledge. KURSO provides open and closed training courses. Each programme consists of lectures and a practical part, which takes place on a manoeuvring site using machines.

TRAINING AS CABLEWAY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS

We invite you to attend courses for maintenance technicians of handling equipment, including ropeways.

Off-road cableways

rail on rails

These are cable-powered railways. The rope is led between the rails on which the carriages move. They are mostly used for urban transport in mountainous areas, but not exclusively. In Poland, the most popular railways are those in Krynica to Góra Parkowa, in Zakopane to Gubałówka, in Międzybrodzie Żywiecki to Żar and in Gdynia to Kamienna Góra.

Ropeways are divided into:

  • those with the drive cable in continuous motion - the movement takes place when attached to the drive cable;
  • Funikulary - a fixed attachment with a drive cable that is thrown over a block at the top and loaded with a counterweight, usually a second carriage. The carriages move in a shuttling motion on a passing track.

The ropeways maintenance training programme includes:

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY;
  • the types of authorisation needed to operate the railway;
  • types and specifics of railways;
  • technical supervision;
  • maintenance duties - technical inspections, repairs;
  • types of failure and prevention;
  • the mechanical and electrical parts of the railway;
  • principles of correct operation and maintenance;
  • practical preparation.

UDT exam

At the end of the training course, the trainee takes an examination at the Office of Technical Inspection. There is no need to fill in a number of documents related to enrolling for the exam - we will do it for you!

The exam consists of a test and a practical part, which is taken before a UDT commission. Upon passing the course, the trainee receives an UDT qualification certificate to work as a maintenance worker. The certificate is valid for 5 years. We provide you with a certificate of completion of our training, together with an English translation of these documents!
