Inspection of slings

For many years, our company has specialised in the inspection and maintenance of UDT machines and their components - including slings. We employ qualified professionals who are qualified and authorised to work with machinery. As a result, we guarantee that your equipment will be thoroughly inspected and checked. We are characterised by professionalism and attention to detail, which is extremely important in the inspection of slings, as well as other components. We invite you to take a look at our offer.

Slings - what are they?

Slings are important components in the construction of UDT machines such as cranes or cranes, for example. They are used to transport heavy loads on construction sites or in warehouses. They carry many tonnes on a daily basis and are therefore particularly vulnerable to various types of damage. However, there are usually some signs that indicate that the equipment is not fit for use, such as the following:

  • mechanical damage such as cuts, tears, abrasions and cracks,
  • damage to the sling, e.g. stretching or pulling of the hook,
  • corrosion,
  • illegible capacity markings on the plate.

Sling surveys and inspections - how often to carry them out?

In order to ensure that the equipment remains in good condition and does not endanger the health and lives of workers, regular inspections must be carried out. There are 3 types of these.

  • Ongoing control - consists of observing the device before and during operation.
  • Periodic inspection - carried out by specialists in the field. It involves inspecting all sling parts and assessing them for serviceability. It is usually carried out every six months and, with more frequent use, even every two months.
  • Periodic examination - which consists of an overall inspection of the slings for various types of defects. It is usually carried out once a year, with more frequent use once every six months. The test results are included in the equipment's documentation.

How to care for slings?

In order for slings to last as long as possible, they must be used properly and a few key rules must be followed. Do not exceed the sling's maximum allowable load and do not splice, break or damage individual components. Store equipment properly, avoid excessive sunlight, snow, the influence of chemicals and other factors that contribute to the destruction and damage of slings. Keeping these elements in mind will keep your equipment in good shape for longer.

Our services also include:

  • maintenance and machine operator courses, such as telehandlers, forklifts, aerial and scissor lifts or cranes,
  • audit,
  • modernisation,
  • maintenance,
  • reviews,
  • stationary and mobile service for aerial work platforms and scissor lifts, cranes, telehandlers, HDS cranes, forklift trucks,
  • sale of new and second-hand equipment,
  • the possibility of checking the machine before purchase,
  • the possibility of hiring replacement equipment (forklift trucks and scissor lifts).

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

To prevent sling losses, no parts should be twisted or spliced, and they should also be protected from chemicals and atmospheric influences such as sun and rain.
