What is a railway crane?

It is a specialised railway vehicle that is used to move loads horizontally or vertically. Rail cranes are used, among other things, for utility, repair, loading or construction work, but also for railway disaster recovery. They are mostly self-propelled, allowing them to move around the work site at low speed.

We also run courses to become an operator as well as a maintainer:

  • mobile cranes (entitling to operate and maintain mobile, mobile and portable cranes and stationary cranes),
  • mobile and portable cranes (authorisation to operate and maintain mobile and portable cranes and stationary cranes),
  • stationary cranes,
  • rail-mounted cranes,
  • tower and high-speed cranes (authorisation to operate and maintain tower and high-speed cranes and rail-mounted cranes),
  • floating cranes (authorising the operation and maintenance of floating and deck cranes),
  • deck cranes.

How much do you earn as a crane operator or maintainer?

The salary for a position as an operator or maintainer of railway cranes is good. It depends, among other things, on experience and skills.
