Mobile platform maintenance course

At KURSO, we provide comprehensive training in the operation and maintenance of mobile platforms. We have qualified staff with many years of teaching experience. Our classes meet the requirements of the Office of Technical Inspection and prepare you to work on all types of mobile platforms. The courses for operating and maintaining aerial work platforms and scissor lifts are currently the most popular. Our training programme consists of a theoretical part, which can be done remotely, and a practical part, which involves operating mobile platforms. We provide training in closed groups at the client's premises (throughout Poland) or open groups, according to our current course schedule.

The KURSO training centre is a guarantee:

scissor lift
  • experienced and professional staff,
  • sound preparation for the examination,
  • training on the manoeuvring area,
  • willingness to work.

The course is designed to provide qualifications in the operation and maintenance of mobile platforms, including: free-moving, self-propelled and vehicle-mounted platforms (also known as "booms").

By passing the examination before the UDT board, the professional licences obtained are valid respectively:

  • 5 years for mobile platforms,
  • 10 years for fixed, mast and hanging platforms.

We train for operating and maintenance licences on machines from companies such as: Haulotte, Alp-Lift, Omme, Bocker, Aerial, Lionlift, Snorkel, BST, Steinweg, Aichi, Basket, CTE, Bison, Bizzocchi, Bronto, Cella, Custers, Denka, Dino Lift, Euro Access, Eurozoom, France Elevateur, Genie, Grove, GSL, Haulotte, Hunter, JLG, Manitou, Maxlift, Oil & Steel, Palazzani, Tecchio, Terex, UpRight, Versalift, Weber, Wumag and many more.

Pre-course documentation required:

  • proof of being over 18 years of age,
  • favourable doctor's opinion to operate UDT machines,
  • minimum basic education,
  • a category B or C driving licence.

The mobile platform operator course allows you to become qualified to lift materials and people to a given height. This is done by means of a platform or gondola, which is either suspended from a linkage or lifted by a crane. Working as a mobile platform operator is a responsible job. During our training, you can prepare yourself thoroughly for your new profession.

By gaining a rating for mobile platforms, you can work as a maintainer and operator of platform-type machinery:

  • mobile,
  • free-running mobile so-called scissor lifts,
  • self-propelled, i.e. mounted on a vehicle,
  • stationary,
  • hanging,
  • mast and mast-articulated.

Training programme - mobile platforms operator

It corresponds to the requirements of the UDT and includes, among other things:

  • knowledge base on mobile platforms,
  • types of platform,
  • technical parameters for the various types of equipment,
  • types of security,
  • types of drives and their operation,
  • documentation and record keeping,
  • health and safety guidelines,
  • activities on mobile platforms.

Training programme - mobile platform maintainer:

  • technical documentation requirements,
  • construction and operation of aerial work platforms and other lifts,
  • the conservator's duties and powers with regard to the service,
  • The most common defects in platforms and methods of repair,
  • good health and safety practices,
  • correct operation,
  • creating a maintenance plan,
  • mechanics and electrics in the platforms.

Maintenance is required not only for mobile platforms, but also for all wheeled moving equipment and cranes. Maintenance training for mobile and portable cranes also includes qualifications for stationary cranes and general-purpose hoists and winches.

Escalators - introductory information

These are equipment designed primarily for transporting or lifting workers to workplaces. Their use in the construction industry, for example, is to make it easier for workers to reach high places where human intervention is required.

Escalators are characterised by a raised platform that is designed to move people. Most of the equipment subject to technical supervision, such as cranes, overhead cranes, cranes, forklifts or telehandlers, have mainly a function of transporting loads.

Types of mobile platforms

The most common division of platforms is to distinguish between them design features:

  • movable hanging,
  • mastheads,
  • movable movable.

Mobile lifting platforms

Their construction is based on a powered chassis to which a support structure is mounted and a working platform is placed on top of it. Mobile mobile platforms are divided into:

  • self-propelled on motorised chassis,
  • telescopic with basket,
  • scissors with platform.

Vehicle-mounted mobile platforms

They have a working platform located on a boom that sits on a vehicle chassis, allowing the machine to move on the road. These platforms are used during road infrastructure maintenance and roadside protection tasks. Thanks to the large reach of the working platform, maintenance and repair work can be carried out. These include: high-voltage cables, internet networks, overhead lines and cable TV. The platforms are also used for urban and roadworks in the removal of protruding branches within the road, as well as the installation of ornaments in urban areas.

Scissor lifts

They are distinguished by the large size of the lifted working platform and their stable position, ensuring even distribution of the scissor mechanism. They often have a higher lifting capacity than telescopic work platforms, allowing 2-3 people to sit on the platform at the same time. Scissor lifts are often used for cleaning work such as cleaning windows and building facades, installing billboards etc.

Questions and answers

What qualifications can be obtained after the training?

Depending on the type of device to which the training relates, the trainee takes a state examination before a UDT or TDT commission. The qualifications obtained enable the participant to work as a mobile platforms operator or maintainer for 5 years for mobile platforms and 10 years for stationary, mast and suspension platforms, respectively.

What machines are involved in training?

Training as an operator or maintainer of mobile platforms applies to machines such as: self-propelled platforms on a car chassis, telescopic platforms with basket and scissor platforms with platform. We also provide other training courses giving authorisations for machines subject to UDT and TDT.

Can the course be taken remotely?

Yes, it is possible to do the theoretical part of the course remotely. We can also carry out the practical part at the client's premises in the case of a closed group.

What issues does the training programme cover?

During the course, the trainee acquires basic knowledge of mobile platforms, their types, technical parameters, types of protection, types of drives and their operation, principles of record keeping, etc.
